Se o contrato de Tranvías era de 1986, tiña que caducar en 2016. Con todo, a empresa acudiu ao xulgado e, dende o goberno da Marea Atlántica, suspendeuse a decisión ata que saise a sentenza.
Lamentablemente, o tribunal acolleuse á interpretación máis restritiva da norma e o contrato seguirá vixente ata 2024.

En 1986, Francisco Vázquez deulle á Compañía de Tranvías o contrato do bus urbano da Coruña, sen outro criterio que a vontade de Francisco Vázquez.
Grazas a ese contrato, a empresa gaña 30 veces máis que a equivalente en Vigo. Un choio.

Desde aquela, Tranvías resistiuse a toda mellora. O mapa de liñas practicamente non se tocou desde os 80, cando a cidade era ben distinta.
A suba do billete foi constante: un 34% entre 2007 e 2011, anos de durísima crise, cos gobernos do PP e o bipartito. Nós mudamos iso.

Lamentablemente, o tribunal escolleu a interpretación máis restritiva da norma.
Con todo, a sentenza do Tribunal Superior de Xustiza da Unión Europea recoñece que a interpretación que fixo o Concello era posible, e mesmo foi a defendida inicialmente pola Comisión Europea.
A Coruña terá que manter catro anos máis un contrato de bus a medida de Tranvías e non das cidadanía
Tentamos mudalo, pero non foi posible. Fixémolo, si, para poñer o ben común antes que o beneficio privado.
